Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require the 8
Division of Fire Safety within the Department of Public Safety to initiate 9
rulemaking to implement a residential universal design building code and to 10
require that a housing development that utilizes State funding incorporate 11
housing designs that meet the residential universal design building code 12
adopted by the Division. 13
