In Memory
of
Lee Roy GaskampJr.
WHEREAS
,  TheSenateof  theStateof  Texasjoinsthe
citizensof Brenhamin mourningthe lossof Lee Roy GaskampJr.,
who diedSeptember6, 2021,at the age of 69; and
WHEREAS, A Brenhamnative,Lee Gaskampwas bornon October
15, 1951;he earnedhis diplomafromSealyHighSchoolin 1970,
and he attendedBlinnCollegeon a bandscholarshipand wenton to
graduatefromThe Universityof Texasat Austin;and
WHEREAS, A belovedcommunityleader,Lee was the founderof
theBankof  Brenhamandwasactivein  numerouscivicand
charitableorganizations;he hadmanyclosefriendsandwasa
memberof the BrenhamBibleChurch;and
WHEREAS, Aboveallthings,Leecherishedhisfamily;he
shared42 yearsof marriagewithSueGaskamp,andtheywere
blessedwithfourchildren:Russell,Catherine,Sam,and Holly;
he wasprivilegedto livecloseto hisextendedfamily,andhe
cherishedtimespentvisitinghis siblingsand passingalonghis
infinitewisdomto all his niecesand nephews;and
WHEREAS, Lee lovedthe citizensof the Brenhamcommunity,
andhe  enjoyedjestingwithhisrivalAggiebuddiesabout
football;he couldoftenbe foundon theBrenhamCountryClub
GolfCourse,andhe tookgreatpridein draftinghisfamous
annualChristmasletters;and
WHEREAS,  A  manof  greathumor,integrity,andcivic
devotion,LeeGaskampwilllongbe rememberedwithrespectand
admirationby all who wereprivilegedto sharein his life;now,
therefore,be it
RESOLVED, ThattheSenateof theStateof Texas,87th
Legislature,3rdCalledSession,herebyextendsincere
condolencesto the bereavedfamilyof Lee Roy GaskampJr.;and,
be it further
RESOLVED, Thata copyof thisResolutionbe preparedfor
hisfamilyas an expressionof deepestsympathyfromtheTexas
SenateandthatwhentheSenateadjournsthisday,it do so in
memoryof Lee Gaskamp.
