1SENATE RESOLUTION

2 WHEREAS, Child care has been and continues to be a 

3lifeline for families, communities, and the economy; and

4 WHEREAS, The child care system supports children's growth, 

5development, and educational advancement while creating 

6positive economic impacts for families and communities; and

7 WHEREAS, Child care providers are essential to the health 

8of our communities by fostering safe and welcoming spaces, 

9supporting working families, and creating enriching 

10environments where children develop lifelong skills; and

11 WHEREAS, Support for affordable, accessible, and 

12high-quality child care represents a worthy commitment to help 

13families work, to support children's healthy development and 

14learning, and to keep our economy growing; and

15 WHEREAS, Child Care Aware® of America and organizations 

16nationwide plan to recognize child care providers this year on 

17May 8, 2026; therefore, be it

18 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 

19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we declare May 8, 2026 

20as Provider Appreciation Day in the State of Illinois, and we

1urge all citizens to recognize child care providers for their 

2important work and how valuable they are to our communities.
